Why do you use seaweed?

Seaweed has been used for thousands of years to detoxify the body, improve circulation, soothe aches and pains, and soften skin and hair. They are also used to treat skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

What seaweed do you use?

There are specific seaweed types like Serrated Wrack, Bladder Wrack and Rock Weed that when warmed with hot water secrete it’s vitamin and mineral rich oil.

Where do you collect the seaweed from?

My local beach at Black Barge by hand.

I use sustainable methods are used in line with the seaweed foraging licence awarded by the Crown Estate in partnership with Natural England and the Inshore Fisheries Conservation Authority (IFCA).

My licence is held at the spa and can be seen at any time.

How is the seaweed used in the bath?

The seaweed is collected fresh from the beach the day of your bath and sterilised. It’s then contained in a Muslin bag.

When hot water saturates the bag the seaweed releases its natural oils into your bath water.

You can then use the bag to massage directly over your skin

What do you do with the seaweed after the session?

Accepted Answer

You can take it home with you and use again-you should get a couple more uses out of it. Or you can pop it on your garden
